Welcome to our Website

Our farm is situated in the Western Cape, 200 km east of Cape Town and 80 km from Cape Agulhas, the southernmost point of the African continent, whose meridian is the official boundary between the Indian and Atlantic oceans. The nearest town is Swellendam, 20 minutes away from our farm. From Cape Town a scenic two-hour drive on the national motorway in the direction of the Garden Route will take you to our place. The region has a Mediterranean-type climate.
Surrounded by natural beauty, the farm is a paradise for Nature lovers. Recreational facilities include canoeing, swimming, fishing, hiking, horseback riding and other outdoor activities. Tracts of the land could be opened up to tourism. Ideal sites for developing holiday cottages are found on the banks of the river.
The property comprises 234 hectares. Two thirds of the farm are covered with tree plantations, mainly eucalyptus.
There is sufficient land for other commercial projects, such as nursery, compost, shavings, eucalyptus oil (essential oil) and enough free space to realize your own dreams.
The place is ideal to grow cannabis for medical use. The farm is at the end of a valley. That's why it is possible to keep the gate closed.
The water comes from the Theewaterskloofdam and is always available. We have the waterrights to irrigate 10 ha of land.
A 2 km section of the river is part of the boundary. The river, which is 80 m across and 8 m deep at that particular point is running past the main house and lends itself ideally to pursuing the water sports mentioned earlier. In close proximity to the main house is a sawmill with a large hall, which we built a few years ago. An apartment overlooking the river is part of the complex.
Sawmilling has proved to be very successful for us. From the old trees lining the river bank we obtain part of the logs processed in the mill. In addition, various types of eucalyptus are brought to us from other parts of the region. Unlimited quantities of Red River Gumtrees are available. These are sawn into planks and boards which are sought after throughout the Western Cape in the manufacture of indoor and outdoor furniture, doors, window frames and floors. (Isn’t running at full capacity anymore: age reasons)
